E1, the world’s first and only all-electric raceboat Championship, is returning to the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS) next week.Visitors to Future Lab can hear from key members of the E1 team and find out what it takes to become a pilot by stepping inside the E1 RaceBird simulator to experience head-to-head racing.The Championship sees nine teams, each featuring a male and female pilot, go foil-to-foil in a spectacle of electrifying racing on water.E1 visits some of the world’s most iconic locations including Monaco, Miami and Dubrovnik with teams which are owned by high-profile celebrities including NBA champion LeBron James, Hollywood actor Will Smith and tennis legend Rafael Nadal.
On Thursday July 10 at midday, LAB E1 will host an E1 RaceBird Design Workshop with Asher Erskine, E1’s Head of Design.At 4pm on Thursday, MISSION 44 will present a panel featuring Sam Coleman, who races for reigning 2024 Champions of the Water Team Brady, and fellow Brit Catie Munnings who pilots for Team Alula championed by LeBron James.The discussion about tackling inequality in motorsport will explore the challenges, barriers, and opportunities for greater inclusion.This event will feature insights from those within motorsport, alongside the perspectives of those at the beginning of their STEM journey. The dialogue will be aimed at understanding the systemic issues within the industry and driving change towards gender equity in these traditionally male-dominated fields.
On Friday July 11 at 6pm the E1 team will present Racing Redefined with Sam Coleman along with Sara Price, the American Westbrook Racing pilot. They will be joined by Ria Walia, E1’s Head of Product, alongside Peter De Vries, Chief Partnerships Officer.On Saturday July 12 at midday, the team will present an XH/E1 Alternative Formats Showcase, featuring James Taylor, XH Chief Championship Officer and Laurence Boyd, E1 Chief Content and Product Officer.The 2025 FOS Future Lab exhibition will explore four key themes:
- New Industrial Revolutions featuring breakthroughs in robotics, automation, AI and the pioneering companies powering human-machine collaboration.
- Our Big Blue Dot with cutting-edge technologies deployed on maritime missions enabling humanity to gain a greater understanding of the oceans.
- Exploring Spatial Intelligence showcasing advances in spatial computing, big data visualisation, volumetric modelling, immersive environment creation, and analytical AI tools, taking us to new places.
- Mobility For Humanity exhibiting smart mobility solutions to explore the unexplored, protect the environment, keep humans safe, support industry and expand humanity’s understanding of the planet and beyond.
